Charlbury Museum News - Pop-up Prints Exhibit

Pop-up Prints Exhibit opens on Saturday 16th May.Featuring lino prints by Charlbury artist Jody O'Reilly and three members of the Charlbury Youth Art Club.                     Photo: 'Spring on the Playing Close' 2023 

Jody's prints are inspired by the Playing Close, and related to our current historic exhibition on its history. The museum has one of Jody's prints in its permanent collection.

Leila  Craven, Roman Kopinski and Will Morgan, of the Charlbury Youth Art Club are exhibiting three lino prints inspired by historic objects in the museum. Discover them within the museum's displays around the Forge and the watchmaking cabinet. This project is in partnership with Tony Lloyd, Charlbury Art Society, & Bryanna Bone, Charlbury Youth Club.

New acquisition: Engraving by Joseph Winkelman on display from 16th May.              'In Charlbury', an original print of 1979, features a busy Brown's Lane before it became a one-way street! 

NEW: Guided talks: Paintings & Prints in Charlbury Museum. Find out more about the artworks in the museum's and the artists who created them. Visitors can enjoy an informal tour of the collection with Sue, who will be stewarding in the museum.                Bank Holiday weekend: 24th & 25th May . Talks: 3 - 3.30 pm each day. 

Opening times: Saturday 10.30 -12.30 & 2.30 - 4.30, Sunday. & Bank Holiday Mondays 2.30 -4.30. Entry: £2, children free.
