Road Closure Next Week

We have spoken to OCC, RH transport and Stagecoach, and all are aware of the road closure at the end of Ditchley Road next week. This means that buses will have to be rerouted, and we understand that they will, for the short period, be going down Market Street. However, we have been assured that there will be notices posted on the bus stops to indicate the revised, temporary rerouting.
May I remind passengers that if there are any serious concerns about timetabling, or non-appearance of buses, they should report this immediately to Allan Field, on
01865 815826. He can then make the necessary investigation
as soon as possible - it is less useful giving anecdotal reports a few weeks later, as the record will have gone.
We hope all will go smoothly next week! Helen Bessemer-Clark and Jane Fitzmaurice, Charlbury PTRs.

New timetable starts next week

A new railway timetable starts next week on the Cotswold Line. The redoubling has enabled some extra daytime trains and elimination of some long waits at stations, though unfortunately there remains a two-hour gap in service in early afternoon. The timetable will be further revised in December, including a new extra High Speed Train to London starting at Charlbury and departing around 7.15am.

The new September timetable can be viewed on the CLPG website at www.clpg.co.uk/FGW19-120911.pdf .

ChOC launches DVD bring-and-buy

If, like most people, you have accumulated DVDs that you will never watch again but are reluctant to throw away, ChOC (www.chocfilms.info) can find new homes for them, and raise funds at the same time.

ChOC will be running a DVD stall at each film. You can bring your spare DVDs on film nights, or -- to give us more time to price them -- leave them at any time at Evenlode Books in Market Street.
