St Mary's PCC votes not to claim for chancel repairs
Home owners and prospective home owners in some areas have been asked to take out insurance against "chancel repair liability", a historical duty to pay for chancel repairs which can be claimed on houses built on ancient church land. The Parochial Church Council of St Mary's Charlbury with All Saints' Shorthampton voted on Monday 9th March, "The PCC of St. Mary’s Charlbury with All Saints Shorthampton is not aware of any claims of chancel repair liability within the parish.
