West Oxfordshire District Council changes control

West Oxfordshire District Council, which runs services for Charlbury including refuse collection, planning, and car parks, is set for a change of administration following yesterday’s elections.

One-third of the seats were up for election, not including the Charlbury & Finstock ward this time. The results saw the governing Conservatives lose seven seats: five to the Liberal Democrats, one to Labour and one to the Green Party.

As a result, the Conservatives have lost their majority on the council. The new standings are Con 20; LD 15; Lab 9; Green 2; independents 3.

Results are listed on the WODC website.
