The Corner House and Memorial Hall CIO: could you join the trustee team?

With the official transfer of responsibility for The Corner House and the Memorial Hall likely to be completed within the next few weeks, the new charity needs someone with a ‘numbers’ background to join the trustee board.

People who attended the public meeting last November on the transition from the existing management committee to the new charity heard for themselves details of the skills and experience that the trustees bring. Since then, we have recognised that our collective skills need to be augmented by those of someone with a financial or accounting experience from education, industry, the charity sector or a similar background. Could this be you?

In outline, the new trustee’s responsibilities will include preparing annual budgets, managing cashflows, supervising our accounts clerk (who looks after the day-to-day financial issues and book-keeping). and preparing the annual accounts, within the overall position of being the charity’s treasurer. In due course, improvements to The Corner House to make the building more sustainable, energy-efficient and user-friendly will involve working with the existing project-development group to help best achieve the desired results.

The Corner House and the Memorial Hall are at the heart of the community here, and the new charity’s trustees are committed to ensuring that it stays that way. To find out more about how you – or someone you know – can help that happen, please contact Paddy Gallagher at charlburycornerhouse@outlook.com or on 811568.
