Analogue Beaver Dam project starting on Wigwell
A community project is now starting on Wigwell to create analogue beaver dams in the stream. The project is being managed by the Wychwood Forest Trust and funding has been approved through the Evenlode Catchment Partnership, You can find out more on the Wigwell Friends page of this site here, We are running work parties and if you want to get involved or if you have any questions, please contact me via this site or email wigwell.friends@gmail.com
Our hope and expectation is that the dams will help to regulate water flow, reducing flood risk and create new wetland habitats behind the dams that will attract new species of flora and fauna to increase biodiversity.
