News from Charlbury Medical Centre

The Charlbury Patient Group has been aware of the problems concerning appointments,  and having been in discussion with the Practice during the autumn, there is now a new telephone message giving updated  instructions on how to access an appointment.

You will have heard the news about the imminent roll out of the Pfizer Covid vaccine and may know people in the first tranche who have been offered the vaccine this week at a nearby practice. Please see the attached information for further details about this, and all patients are requested to wait for their letter inviting them for vaccination and avoid contacting the Medical Centre for information at this time.

If any Charlbury resident needs transport in order to get to their appointment at a vaccination centre and does not have family or friends available to call on, remember that All Together In Charlbury (ATIC) aims to help transport to medical and other necessary appointments. You can ring their call centre number on 01993 776277 to see if ATIC can help you. Please given as much notice of your appointment as possible.

Flu immunisation sessions for ages 50-64 are to take place on the 5 th and 12 th January , and if you are eligible, having not already had one, you will hear from the Practice.

We welcome offers of volunteering to help with these clinics to spread the load, this will mean only being outside for an hour’s slot, social distanced, and further details will be given if you contact us at patientgroup.charlbury@nhs.net You will have seen how well this works if you have attended one of the flu clinics already , and we shall certainly need further volunteers for the Covid clinics if they are to happen in Charlbury.  Please do contact us if you can help

Thank you
