Beer Festival passes £1/4million donations milestone

This week Charlbury & Overseas Community Projects approved two grant applications that took the total amount raised by Charlbury Beer Festival for donations to over a staggering £250,000! The two projects were both educational, one for document readers for each classroom in Charlbury School and the other for Waves, an overseas educational charity, for e-books for Rubens Primary School in Nairobi.

Over the 22 years that Charlbury Beer Festival has been operating the School has been the principal beneficiary, receiving just under £100,000. There have been donations to 50 local organisations, ranging from Charlbury Pre-School, local sports clubs, Charlbury Day Centre and the Community Centre, and 12 overseas projects in Africa, India and South America. There are still some funds available in this years pot so please do get in touch via our website for an application form.

None of this would have been possible of course without the many hours that committee members and other volunteers have put in over this time. Equally, none of this would have happened without the support of the community turning up each year, or without all our wonderful sponsors. Thank you to everyone!

We hope this years beer festival on 27th June will be as successful as recent years and look forward to seeing you then.
