New project assessing Charlbury's heritage and character

Work is starting on a project to assess and document the character and heritage of Charlbury's buildings. The Charlbury Local Area Character Assessment is kicking off on Thursday 5 October with a workshop for volunteers who will be carrying out the assessment over the coming weeks. The volunteers will be working in small groups to assess different parts of the town, with results feeding into policies for our Neighbourhood Plan to conserve Charlbury's fine heritage of attractive buildings and landscape and to help integrate new development successfully.

We are still recruiting volunteers, so please get in touch if you would like to know more, or just come along to the workshop!

The workshop is at 7:30pm on Thursday 5th October in the Green Room at the Memorial Hall. Dr Kathryn Davies will explain the project and how local volunteers can play a vital part in making it happen, using a specially-designed toolkit. Everyone with an interest in Charlbury's history, its present appearance and its future is welcome. Remember that it's your town and you are the expert on what matters to you about it and why. Please join us and bring your friends to find out what it's all about and how you can help. Drinks and nibbles provided.
