Friends, nobles, countrymen may be interested to know that the illustrious Charlbury Debating Society convened in the Corner House on Thursday night.
After a strident but good-humoured session before a capacity audience, the motion, "Religion is a force for good in the world", proposed by Duncan Forbes and opposed by Peter Wright, was adopted by 24 votes to 19 with four abstentions.
