The Charlbury Beer and Wine Circle

The group has been meeting regularly since being established in June 1978. Previously the name was The Charlbury Beer and Wine Making Circle but with no members now producing their own favourite tipple, the word ‘making’ has been dropped. Our focus today is chiefly on wine, with only occasional tastings of beer.

We meet monthly in the Memorial Hall, usually on the third Monday, with a varied programme including professional and member-led tastings, to which new members and guests are welcome. Our programme also includes vineyard visits, a garden party, walks and a BBQ. 

Our next meeting will be on Monday 19th February, when our member Ursula will introduce a selection of wines from her South African homeland. 

March and April will see presentations by professionals from Waddesdon Manor  and Haynes, Hanson & Clark (from Stow-on-the-Wold) respectively.

Annual membership costs just £10, as do tastings. The fee for guest attendance at tastings is £15.
