St Mary's Church

St Mary's Church is the parish church for all the people of Charlbury. All are welcome to come along to any of our services or events. There are two main services each Sunday:

8.00 traditional Holy Communion
9.45 Parish Communion (traditional Holy Communion format with a mixture of traditional and modern elements). Sunday club for all children takes place during the service and there is an active choir.

Refreshments are provided after the service.

Messy church is held approximately every two months - see the events page for details.

Ignite contemporary worship service - is often on the second Sunday evening of the month but please see events for dates

Look out for our other special services including Choral Evensong and Taize, and events in the Events section of this site.

For more information, go to the church website, www.stmaryscharlbury.co.uk, or contact the Parish Office (parishoffice@charlburychurch.uk).

Shorthampton
Have you visited our other church at Shorthampton? It's only a short walk or drive from Charlbury. Follow the road past the station (towards Burford), and take the right turn towards Chadlington: Shorthampton is signposted on the left. The little church is kept open during the day and is totally exquisite, with original box pews, a view across the fields and a collection of medieval wall paintings. There is an Evening Prayer service there at 6pm (11.15am in Winter) on the second Sunday of the month.
