Charlbury Art Society

CAS welcomes anyone with an interest in Art, not just practicing artists.

Objectives:
To encourage art appreciation and artistic pursuits and to provide members with opportunities to exhibit their work.

Meetings:
These are usually held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm, September to November and January to May inclusive. All meetings are currently held in the Memorial Hall, Charlbury. Details of our monthly meetings can be found on the Events section of this site.

Membership:
Membership is by annual subscription, currently £15 (free for age 25 or under). The membership year runs from 1st September to 31st August. Entry to the monthly evening meetings is free for members. Members can obtain discounts at a number of businesses supplying artists' materials and framing services locally and in Woodstock, Witney and Oxford.

Events:
Occasional coach trips are arranged for groups of members to visit art galleries and major exhibitions. In the winter months there are a number of workshops held in Charlbury and nearby, as well as untutored portrait sessions. In summer, one or more outdoor painting days are arranged.

Exhibitions:
Exhibitions of members' work, for display and sale, are held twice a year; one in conjunction with the Garden Society's Spring Show and another in the autumn.
