Tue 21 Apr 2026: Bioacoustics and Biodiversity

Tuesday 21 April 2026 19.30-21.00 hrs

David Green, Head of Innovation, Blenheim

Friends Meeting House, Charlbury

David will talk about how, collaborating with Oxford Brookes University, they monitor and understand biodiversity across the estate from the air to deep within the soil, using bioacoustics – digital sensors and remote technology to gather data. Initially focusing on bird and bat recordings they now study the hidden acoustic world of soil, exploring the soundscape of the soil environment and its relationship to ecological processes of soil life - as indicators of soil health and ecosystem dynamics.

This is a Charlbury Wildlife Society meeting, but everyone is welcome. Free to members (membership £10 annually) and those under 18. Or a contribution of £5 is invited from anyone else to help fund CWS wild life initiatives in this year of Nature Recovery. Charlburywildlifesociety@gmail.com
