Nature Recovery Club for Charlbury’s Youth

Hello everyone,

My name is Bryanna, and I’ve been running youth provision in Charlbury for the past four and a half years.

Throughout this time, young people have consistently expressed a desire for a regular youth club focused on nature recovery, environmental action and practical conservation. Over the years, I’ve dedicated thousands of volunteer hours to supporting local, youth-led nature projects. But to turn this vision into something sustainable, we need to move beyond relying on volunteer time alone.

We want to build a programme that will outlast me.

And we’re closer than ever to making that happen.

We already have the young people, youth work interns, Duke of Edinburgh placement volunteers for this year, local networks, partnerships and, importantly, the evidence showing that this is exactly what young people in our community want.

What we’re missing is the funding to cover the essential core costs needed to make it happen.

While we have secured some funding towards these costs, it won’t become available until April 2027. Unfortunately, our young people can’t wait until then. We want to get the programme started next Sunday, and we need your help to make that possible.

Running a youth programme involves much more than the activities young people see. Behind the scenes, there are essential costs associated with volunteer recruitment and training, compliance, safeguarding, health and safety, communications, marketing, accounting, event coordination and project management.

We’ve secured some local funding to support the programme, but it hasn’t covered as much of these essential costs as we had anticipated.

So today, I’m asking for your help.

If everyone reading this could donate £25 or more, we would be able to cover the immediate costs needed to launch the programme on schedule.

Even better, we are expecting donations to be match-funded, meaning every pound donated could be doubled and go twice as far in supporting local young people.
