I have just been chatting to an Openreach employee who was part of a gang working near the drive entry to my house, and they were busily installing the flexible plastic tubes down the telephone conduits in Ticknell Piece. This is a precursor to running full fibre to the property in the area. The fibre is blown down the plastic tubes.
So it seems that Ticknell Piece, at least, is due to get full fibre from Openreach some time in the future. My guess is that they are starting here in Charlbury as the infrastructure will be somewhat newer with decent ducting, whilst the older parts of the town will be not so new.
Of course, there is Gigaclear in Charlbury already, but the difference will be that the Openreach service is wholesale, which means that ISPs like Sky will also be able to use it.
Charlbury is mentioned in the Openreach Full Fibre Build document (dated June 2025), with services meant to be available within the next 12 months in some areas. I would also warn people that roll-out will no doubt be over quite a long period, and whether it will be universal in the town is another matter. No doubt the existence of ducting will ease a lot of this, but whether it is all suitable is another matter, and Gigaclear opted to build their own infrastructure.

Just how long this will take, I don't know, but it's the first I'd heard that Openreach were putting in Fibre to the Property (FTTP) into the town at all. Does anybody else have information about this?
