Sat 27 Sep, 22:22 Para phrasing Stephen Bubb may I now say "What we now need is to get on with [matters]". "Over to Roy and Rod as the respective Chairs to crack on'therewith" "Of course, there will be issues to resolve but wouldn’t it be a shame if we lost such an important community asset." Personally speaking, having only lved in Charlbury for some15 years, I have no idea who Stephen Bubb is. That said, he comes across as someone who could (possibly) get my vote!! I'm a simple retired Chartered Tax Adviser (and I must confess to having been a trustees of an educational charity for some 12 years in my later years) with a simple request as regards subsequent meetings. My request is simply this. Please, please, please, please may we have a comprehensive Agenda drawn up by the Corner House Trustees at the start of the meeting?!! That said, if the Corner House Trustees are in any doubt as to how a purposicve agenda should be structured they should consult the Town Clerk - namely Lisa Wilkinson. Lisa's experience shines through as each montly meeting of the Town Council is upon us. Sorry Roy but yesterday evening was not, at least to my simple mind, Charlbury's finest hour - or indeed should I say its finest two two hours!! Residents were invited to "join [the Trustees] for our annual public meeting and have your say in the exciting future development of Charlbury’s Corner House and Memorial Hall" Furthermore, the invitation read "Share ideas on how these spaces might best be used for the benefit of the community and how they might become more comfortable and better enjoyed by everyone all year round."
The Trustees also posed the question "Is a cafe a good fit for the Corner House and, if so, how can we best make this work? Is there a groundswell of community support for the move of the Deli to a community space? This is your opportunity to let us know what you think. The publicity concluded by stating "The trustees look forward to seeing you at the APM and hearing your views." Kevin Slevin, Ticknell Piece Road
