Wednesday Lunch Club - paid staff and volunteers needed

Every Wednesday the charity Charlbury Day Centre runs a popular lunch club for older people from 11.30-2pm. We have a paid manager, and she would ideally love a job-share partner, to cover one Wednesday per month on average. This would be a paid position but only for about 4-8 hours a month and would be extremely flexible as the two people could work out which Wednesdays suited them to cover. It might suit a parent with children at school for example. Please contact Kath@songspace.co.uk if you might be interested or have any questions.

The lunch club is running well, but our volunteer numbers have dwindled over the last few years, so we are looking for new recruits. We have three types of volunteer and each would only be needed for one Wednesday a month to fit your availability:

General helpers - you would come to the Memorial Hall from 11am-2pm and help to set tables, make drinks, chat to members, help the manager with the entertainment and help with washing up and clearing away. (You get a free lunch for your troubles!)

Drivers - you would drive someone from their home in Charlbury to the Memorial Hall at 11.30am and collect them to take them home again at 2pm.

Cooks - we have a rota of cooks who make a meal once every 4-5 weeks for about 14 people. You would need to shop for the food and cook it on the premises then help with the clearing up. You would be required to do a short, online, food hygiene awareness course.

Lastly, if you would like to come along to lunch club - it's a fun and friendly group which helps people to make social connections as well as getting a freshly cooked two- course meal once a week for a contribution towards costs of £6 per session.
