Christine,

Sorry, but the fact of the matter is that Apcoa is contracted by GWR to manage the car parks at its stations, including Charlbury. Parking at most stations in the country is the responsibility of the train operators. In the same way that GWR uses Apcoa, Chiltern Railways contracts out management of car parks at its stations to a company called Met Parking.

And I will continue to urge anyone having trouble with Apcoa to contact GWR - if people don't tell them they are having problems with penalty notices and the like, how is GWR supposed to know what's going on and do something about it? I'm not saying people should ignore Apcoa's correspondence but GWR is well aware there have been problems at Charlbury, so if things are still going wrong, please tell them - not just post in this thread.

If there is a steady flow of complaints and comments, someone will sit up and take notice. The CLPG will continue to talk to GWR about car parking and other issues, but the more people who say something as well, the better.

Trevor, if a number of people had not come together in 1978 to form the Cotswold Line Promotion Group, there might not have been a railway in Charlbury for you to complain about today. Never mind 20 trains to and from London every weekday. There's nothing wrong with a bit of promotion - after all, you seem very keen to do it on behalf of Chiltern Railways...

PS: If anyone wants to check whether trains are running on time before settling off to collect people from a station - or get proof that their train was delayed/cancelled/terminated short at Oxford, I would recommend the website realtimetrains.co.uk

To see details for Charlbury use this link www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced/CBY which gives various options to search.

Details of all services that ran over the previous seven days are also available - when you select a time range, the Today button in the left-hand corner becomes a live date box, which opens a calendar when you click on it. Cancelled trains are also shown.

If you click on the train ID - highlighted in blue in search results like these - www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced/CBY/2016/09/08/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt that gives a detailed record of each service's complete journey, with timetabled arrival and departure times and the actual ones that were logged, such as this, showing how the 04.50 from Hereford (06.33 from Charlbury) to Paddington ran yesterday www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced/CBY/2016/09/08/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt
