At the Antiques Roadshow there (bring your treasures for a valuation!) we'll also be selling local-interest books at heavily discounted prices. Alongside our ever-popular 10p and 50p rummage boxes there will be a wide selection of new & used books from £1 to £25, all at significant discount (cheaper than Amazon or Abe). Scarce items include "The Roads around Oxford", an 1896 Oxford University Bicycle Club book & map detailing the gradients, pre-tarmac road surfaces and toll-booths in Charlbury and the Oxford area (a bargain at £7.50); and the Oxfordshire Record Society's out-of-print "Historical Atlas of Oxfordshire" (£25, against £45 cheapest internet price). All profits to local charities. |
