"We" seem to be taking a delight in who can have the highest temperature? Some humans and most animals can't cope with it, should we perhaps be using cooling thoughts and remembering frosty days, I appreciate snow is not common now but cold weather is, and of course when the rain starts it won't stop for ages..... or it will be the wrong type of rain with flash flooding instead of slow rain to soak in the land. Everything will recover and grow again. Our weather just can't please us can it.

I have just recorded 42 degrees in my garden - in semi-shade.  Can this be the temperature?  I used a second thermometer and they both had the same reading
