Couple of things pulled off the ONCF mailing:

2. £2,000 FOR YOU TO MAKE YOUR AREA CLEANER, GREENER & HEALTHIER
This is a central government fund of £2,000, designed to support local
community action. It is intended for individuals or groups who act as
‘community champions’, to organise local community focused initiatives.
These can be cultural, environmental, social, educational, health focused,
youth focused, for the elderly or other. For full details, visit
www.dfes.gov.uk/communitychampions
(Community Green Place [community@green-space.org.uk] Issue 22)

3. AWARDS AND MONEY FOR YOUNG VOLUNTEERS!
Are you a young person volunteering in Oxfordshire, Berkshire or
Buckinghamshire or do you have young people volunteering for you? If so you
may be interested in a scheme called Millennium Volunteers (MV) in
Communities run by BTCV. The scheme is open to anybody aged 16-24 years old
and benefits include:
- Paid expenses up to £200 for travel, equipment or training
- A nationally recognised MV Award for 100 or 200 hours volunteering
- Access to free local training with BTCV.
The two slogans of the scheme are "build on what you’re into" and get "MV
on your CV".
You could volunteer in any kind of work that benefits the community, for
example, conservation or youth groups. If you would like to register for
the scheme or would like any further information please contact Julia on
07801 686027 or you can email j.westgate@btcv.org.uk
