When Face masks become de rigueur

And to gather can cause quite a stir

And there’s been quite a boom, in the usage of Zoom

Then you know there‘s some ‘thing’ in the air

When travel plans have to be quashed

And your hands must be constantly washed (Happy birthday to y…)

Then through glasses of Fuchsia, we miss the minutia

of Brexit, hard or soft

When you’re torn between guilt and enjoyment

Of your house, your space and employment

well it’s not so nice, just a sacrifice

if you’ve Critical-Worker Deployment

When the PM can’t get to the point

And he sounds like he just smoked a joint

Then the goalposts keep movin’, (through pot confusion?)

I will go to work, or I wont?

When the beer’s passed out of a window

and Wilderness and Cornbury are no-go

and the kids are at home, and your works on the phone

and you dressing just like a hobo...

Then remember this won’t be forever

Life’s tenacious, if light as a feather

The ones that you miss, want to hug and to kiss

One day, will all be altogether.
