If anyone wishes to stray as far as Oxford, they will see 'Scotsman' there, scheduled to arrive at 18.08 and depart at 18.19 for Didcot and Paddington. At 18.27 Clun Castle will leave Oxford to travel via the Banbury line, having spent much of the day in and around Oxford. This includes a circular 'dining tour' marking 175 years of the Didcot to Oxford line, travelling from Oxf to Did then the G W mail line to west London to get through to the Marylebone line and coming back to Oxf via Prince's Risboro, Bicester Village and Ox Parkway.

For anyone at Kennington. they'll get Scotsman going south at 18.20 and Clun coming north at 18.24 - two steam hauled trains passing there within four minutes! When did that last happen?

It wasn't on the forum, Richard.  I posted it as a news item.

The train is indeed scheduled to arrive at Charlbury at 17.34 and will be here for no more than 20 minutes while the FS takes on water.  It then has to get going so that it will be well out of the way by the time the regular train towards Oxford arrives at the station at 16.04.

That's odd. One of our rail fan regulars had posted information on the visit of the Flying Scotsman earlier, but that seems to have disappeared from the forum. A 'West Coast Railway Company" service is due to arrive in CBY at 1734 and depart at 1748, which might fit the bill.
