I just drove to Witney to do shopping, and the road is generally fine EXCEPT for the bend by the Finstock railway bridge, which was still a bit dodgy. But it seems to be warming up slowly, so it may be OK by now, but just be careful ...

I went to Chipping Norton at about 11am. No problems (although I'm genetically trained to drive in snow/cold weather).

No post today. Just had an email from Royal Mail for OX7 customers: "Due to heavy snow in the area we're sorry to say we'll be unable to deliver any mail to you today."

Apparently the service centre in Chippy is open if you received a note to collect something, not that one might want to drive up there today.

I tried to go to Burford on the A361 (from Milton) which was pretty bad as I don't think it had been gritted. I gave up and turned round, and got home safely.

Bakers buses not running either. From their website: Friday 1st February 2019, Due to Weather Conditions, Chipping Norton School Routes CN04, 156 will not run today.

It has snowed overnight. Not a huge amount, a couple of inches at a push. It's powdery and I don't think there's been much wind, so no piling up. Trains are running on time.
