The main thoroughfare through the town centre was rocked at 1.27pm today by a panda car chasing a young Caucasian male who was driving an old Audi estate. Excited Charlburians stared from the pavements along Enstone Road as the car sped past the Playing Close closely pursued by the panda car with blue lights flashing. Entering Browns Lane, the police upped the ante by switching on their neenars. The driver of the Audi, until that moment apparently unaware he was being followed, accelerated maniacally towards the crossroads by the Corner House and raced down Church Street, the police right on his tail. Moments later passersby were stunned as a second police car flew down Enstone Road at full tilt, blue lights blazing and neenars shattering the quiet of the early afternoon in this (not quite) bustling market town.

Have the county lines drug dealers reached us already? Did the guy have a defective nearside front tyre and the police just wanted him not to hurt himself if it gets icy later?

If anyone can supply information regarding the conclusion of this thrilling episode in local history, please add it here.
