Many thanks for this Michael. We all enjoy ringing the new year in on our 300 year old plus bells and its nice to know this is appreciated
If anyone out there is interested in how we do this just come along to our practice most Wednesdays at 7.30 - just come in the little door at the base of the church and you can even have a go at ringing if you like

Last night's town-centre celebration was the best I can remember. A huge "thank you" to the church bellringers for their contribution before and after midnight.

And a pat on the back to the - well there must have been a couple of hundred of us singing Auld Lang Syne raucously and peaceably. As one visitor put it "in my town, that many people on the street would have the police out immediately"

A wonderful start to the year.
