nuisance telephone calls

I have today received 3 telephone calls, half an hour apart, with nobody on the line. The number is 01702472576. I have checked and 01702 is Southend on Sea. where I know nobody. Is anyone else being plagued with this? I have telephone preference but this is not stopping them. I have to answer the phone as I am expecting calls from genuine people
