There is also a Country and Western dance on the first Saturday of each month in the memorial hall in Charlbury. they have a live band every month. A friendly bunch of around 80ish people each.

Tessa there is also another possibility.
We have a Border Morris Dance side called Wychwayz in Charlbury and are looking for new members. You would certainly be very welcome and can just come along to see what we do if you like.
This is a mixed side and we are also looking for musicians. I don't know if you play an instrument but our dances are essentially to folk tunes
If you want to see us in action we dance behind the Bell on Boxing Day around lunch time.
We practice most Tuesdays at the Shed on Nineacres so if you would like to know more reply to this post or phone on 811022.

There is the wychwood folk club in Ascott. Usually they have at least 1 gig a month at Tiddy hall in the village. The Duke of Marlborough pub near Judd's garage also has a folk night on every Friday evening.

There is a Folk Dance Group in Stonesfield which is always looking for new members of any age whether they have danced before or not. It happens every Wednesday (except the next one) at 8pm in the village hall. Nearly always with live music and it costs £2.50 per 2hr session including tea and cake or biscuits! A very happy atmosphere. I have been going there since 1973.
