Heather, try this instead https://www.actionfraud.police.uk

For some reason copying & pasting the link enters the character / & that prevents it from working. Otherwise follow the link on the TV license website which works OK: https://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/faqs/FAQ288

Hi Heather. The TV licensing website does indeed advise deletion but also says that it is investigating the source of this scam.
It's up to you but I would report it to Action Fraud. They work with several agencies to build up a "picture" which then enables them to trace the scammers, so every piece of information is potentially useful.
Besides that, there is a lot of information on the site about how to protect yourself from various scams and cyber crime, which is worth a read.

Hannen, I was going to forward the scam email from the TV License to the TV licensing website but there was no email address I could send it to but there was a statement on their website saying they were aware of email scams and to delete the email I had received.

Yesterday I had an HMRC tax refund email scam. These need to be reported to phishing@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk. There was also a related email last week.

HMRC emailed today to confirm that they never send emails out with tax refund forms or details, & that they will always contact the person due a refund via the post. They stressed not to click on the link or open the attached pdf file. HMRC do seem to be investigating, so it is worth reporting these.

This email scam appears to be trying to use the name of our locally based charity 'Special Effects' to get you to open it. The sender is calling itself 'Special Effects B'and is reminding you of an unpaid invoice.
