I hope the cold meats included trying out SPAM, as it seems we should be stock piling it, unless we wish to eat Chlorinated roast chicken.

Hixet Wood. Brief outage at 5.30 am, then power off at 10.00 am and only back on at 3. pm. I used my smartphone to go on to the S& S website where the estimated time for restoration was 1.00 pm.
Still, I think they've done a good job. We had cold meats and veg for luncheon which was probably better for us than the roast.
Nevertheless, I shall claim compensation, as the ice for my G & T melted. ;-)

The hole in Pooles Lane outside our house is where they are repairing a fault from a power cut we had in May.
When the workmen were called away on Friday to an emergency the exposed cables were thoroughly insulated.

Latest from SSE is that they're hoping for power to be back at 3pm but no guarantees.

Just to add SSE called me back about an hour ago - just as power restored to Sandford Park. I explained it was a long wait to report. The call centre person explained they were switching back in locations in sequence. They explained there is a SSE App available which makes fault reporting easier - an they list problems as well. I downloaded "Power Track" and indeed it seems to work - showing the map of areas affected by the current outage. So if you are interested it might save a long telephone next time there's a power cut (which isn't very often).

Nine Acres Close? Well you lot are posh up there! In PROWD (Peoples' Republic Of Woodfield Drive!) it was off for over an hour.
Riverside has gennys, so hopefully unaffected.

No power in Lees Heights either. And I hear Woodstock Road is out. I wonder how the poor bedraggled souls are faring at Riverside Festival?

Is your power still on Helen? I wondered if it had anything to do with the hole in the road on Pooles Lane than has exposed live cables and lots of water in!!

We are just off Pooles Lane and had brief cuts at 5.30am and 10ish but only for a couple of minutes. I seem to remember it was the Hixet Wood folk who also got a really prolonged power cut in the snow - I wonder why that area is more susceptible?

Nothing untoward in mid-Hixet Wood. The lights flickered twice about ten minutes ago, but no power cut.
