The Charlbury Society still has a few tickets left for a visit to Croome Court near Pershore on Tuesday 12th June Travel by coach cost £10 National Trust member £20 others
Croome is the first complete estate both House and Gardens to be designed by Capability Brown. It was built for the Earl of Coventry in the 18th century and considered to be a fine example of Palladian style. Since then it has had a very varied history but was finally acquired by a heritage trust and is now leased to the National Trust. Some of the rooms have been recently restored. There is also an extensive landscaped park with several follies designed by Robert Adam. There are currently a number of special exhibitions as well.
So there is plenty to see and do and if you are interested please contact the Society Secretary by May 30th Susan Merry - susanmerry2@gmail.com
