Richard, That information does beg the question, if the trains are going to potentially be 10 cars long why are they not making the platforms 10 cars long as well?

For those without the patience to trawl through the documents, the application is to extend each platform to roughly the length of seven carriages. The intention is to stop 10-car trains at the station at peak times, formed of two five-car trains coupled together.

There is an application referenced in the News section to extend the platforms at the station to accomodate longer train sets. It includes some related drainage work. I have responded asking that they also put in some drainage on the approach road. This has been promised for years but has never been done and we pedestrians continue to get splashed slip on ice etc from the standing water puddle. Others may care to comment in the same vein.
