Not quite. Having dug out a couple of other vehicles on the B4026 this morning, I went across to Merton to take our daughter and fiance to Bicester Station so they could catch a train to London then Eurostar to go skiing in France!

The Woodstock road was snow packed and single file in places, but my Skoda with Winter tyres made light work of it. About half a mile north of Woodstock the tarmac reappeared and it was easy going from then onwards. Return journey fine too, but probably risky to venture out tonight in darkness.

Banbury Hill blocked with abandoned cars. Snow plough was heading up but now reversing back down. We are barricaded in! Zombie apocalypse now!

If you check the Trainline app, all trains leaving Oxford are cancelled this afternoon.

Snowing very heavily for about last 20 minutes adding a covering to the roads. Just saw car reversing back from Banbury Hill so may be hard going for non 4x4's.

My Wife advises me that the 2.21 from Oxford to Charlbury has been cancelled, so she is taking a black cab from Oxford to Charlbury and he assures her that they will make it.

Ditto on trying to get in from Oxford - should be there in an hour. Did anyone make it through this afternoon? I was thinking I might be able to get a cab to Banbury hill farm and walk the dip before town. Terrible idea?

Seriously though, she has made it to Oxford. Does anyone have any ideas as to how she can get from there to here?

Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue reported A44 completely blocked between Woodstock & Enstone by stranded lorries earlier today. When it's re-opened perhaps somebody could also report that here.

Also, Chipping Norton & surrounding villages have had a power cut since 2 a.m. Again, when the power is back on, it would be good to know.
