Groups of volunteers have been working on ideas to improve life in Charlbury as part of the town's Community Action Plan. We now need more volunteers to help take forward the ideas we have come up with. Come along to the Charlbury Neighbourhood Forum open session in the Corner House during Street Fair (this Saturday, 2 - 5pm) to find out more and sign up. The projects are:

Community-led housing project- Charlbury no longer has any supported housing, which means elderly residents who can't live fully independently face having to move elsewhere. This project could provide homes for the elderly (care home or supported living) as well as self-build. There are some national organisations working on these sorts of projects that we could look at as examples

More seats in bus shelters and elsewhere in town

Traffic and movement - we want to carry out an audit of where in town it is difficult for pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair users and buggies to get around so that we can make improvements

Lifelong learning

Consulting teenagers - we have heard from lots of Charlbury residents but not teenagers so any suggestions and volunteers would be very welcome

Also look out for our Good Neighbour scheme "All Together In Charlbury" which will have a stall at street fair.

Newcomers to Charlbury are particularly welcome to get involved and bring new ideas! If you can't make it on the day, please contact Meryl Smith through the forum.
