Just in case anyone is interested, I just found another website that lists the times that steam specials go through various stations - including Charlbury. The link is: https://www.beholder.uk/steam/

And this confirms the re-routing via Cheltenham and Swindon. Still rats!

According to the Railway Herald listings, they have changed the route for this, so that it is now going back from Worcester to Didcot via Cheltenham, not along this line. Rats!

For anyone interested, The Duchess of Sutherland should be steaming through Charlbury on Thursday 17th August just after 1 pm, heading towards Evesham. No return journey on this line, though, so you only get one chance to see it.

And just looking ahead a bit, on Saturday 26th August, there is the opportunity to see Union of South Africa - heading through Charlbury towards Evesham at around 9.15-9.30, and returning the same day around 6 pm. Make the most of it - the locomotive won't be able to run again once its licence expires in 2019.
