Emma, don't hang around in the attempt to get the squirrels out. Most household insurance policies don't cover damage by vermin & this can turn out to be very expensive!

Some people I know in Witney discovered this to their cost. Some squirrels got down their chimney & were trapped in their living room whilst they were on holiday. The squirrels pretty well gnawed through everything made of wood (furniture, window frames, patio doors etc etc) & also their wiring. The resulting damage was like some kind of silent comedy film, but not funny to the owners of the house, of course.

WODC offers a good pest control service that covers squirrels, as do many private firms. You will need to pay, but it is surely worth it.

Can anyone recommend someone who could help "coax" a/some squirrels out of our loft please?
