Looks like I am lucky that Charlbury and Cardiff are in the same zone

How did you go about getting it?

The GWR website seems reluctant to sell anything except standard tickets with standard Senior Railcard discounts.

For those over 60 GWR are currently running a little advertised promotion, which has enabled me to buy a return ticket to Cardiff from Charlbury for the grand sum of £12
