Interesting discussion. In my experience, the biggest mistake is expecting one solution to completely eliminate algae. Good water circulation, regular removal of organic debris, avoiding overfeeding, and adding aquatic plants all work together to keep algae under control. I've also been reading more about Algae-Eating Fishes for Your Pond, and while they won't solve every algae problem, the right species can definitely help manage certain types of algae as part of a balanced pond ecosystem. Combining natural algae grazers with proper pond maintenance seems to provide the most consistent long-term results.

I am looking for recommendations for somebody able to revivify a small garden pond, including replacing the edging and a broken electrical fountain pump. Have you used anyone local? And were you pleased with the results? Thanks.
