Thames Water traffic chaos

Miraculously it has been cleared, Thames Water says.

When I came through there from Oxford about an hour ago it looked like it had all been done and cleared away. Traffic was running normally. But if yesterday evening was anything to go by, I'd still avoid the A44 tonight and come back via Kidlington.

Thames Water are repairing a 10 mm leaking pipe beside a field on the A44 between Yarnton and Oxford, using temporary traffic lights. It was pretty much gridlocked both ways at 7.15 this morning and unless they have fixed it, it will be tonight as well. Their "emergency" licence from our supine Council runs until September 13, so if it does last that long it will fun (again) with all the extra Blenheim horse trials traffic....
