Line-up and timings for the CBF Culture Club tent, 25 June

We're pleased to confirm the line-up and timings for the Culture Club tent at the Charlbury Beer Festival on Saturday 25 June:

12.30: the choirs of Charlbury Primary School, led by Jennie Grierson and accompanied by Maria Jurd, present 'Songs for the summer'

1.15: 'Maps, Shakespeare and me' ... Artist and cartographer Jane Tomlinson in conversation with Nick Millea of the Bodleian Library's map department

2.15: 'How English became English' ... Professor Simon Horobin explains how English came to be spoken by more than a billion people across the globe, how it evolved into the language we speak today, and how it continues to adapt

3.15: 'From our own correspondent', presented by Eli Vergara, with journalists Kieran Cooke, Harriet O'Brien, Mark Gregory and Alasdair Ross

4.15: Senegalese musician Jali Fily Cissokho leads a kora workshop, talking about the traditions of the instrument and griot culture, and demonstrating the kora's widely diverse styles

5.15: 'Turning windfalls into gold' ... Christine Elliott on the story behind Charlbury Sharecroppers Gold Cider

6.00: Charlbury Youth Theatre in association with Snap Theatre present 'Shakespeare or bust'

Jonathan Luxmoore and band will also be busking at intervals throughout the day. We hope to see you there!
