Proposals for a new estate of more large houses to the east of The Slade seem to have largely
been missed by residents. This is an entirely greenfield site in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and in the Charlbury Conservation Area.It will border the Blenheim Nature Reserve to the south. In recent years most housing developments have been on brownfield sites, even the new Ditchley Gate was on a flat site with some existing buildings whereas this is a field forming part of the rolling countryside characteristic of the Cotswolds. If this gets planning consent no open space or field around Charlbury is safe from development. Link below to planning site for formal comments:
