If I may chip in here wearing a professional hat - if you're binding a thesis or a modern book then fine, but be very careful indeed about sending an antiquarian book to be re-bound. Unless you are lucky or careful, you are liable to ruin it.

Maltbys in Oxford is probably the nearest traditional one (I'm not sure if their shop is still in St Michael's Street off Cornmarket; they seem to have a factory on Horspath Road)

Antiquarian booksellers know of such people, if Google hasn't got any ideas... Many printers are also capable of simple book repair jobs, since binding is all part and parced of printing these days.
