John,
I took some of the pictures looking out of a window in Crawborough Villas and some walking down Crawborough Terrace to the town. The view is over Cornbury Park and Wychwood forest. Some of the trees in the pictures are from back gardens in Crawborough. It was the most stunning sunset I had ever seen. The sunrise was quite good too, but having no camera in the car I didn't take photos. Thank you all for your nice feed back, and feel free to use the photos as you wish as in (copyleft which means share them out for free).

Lovely pictures and I would be interested in knowing where they were taken from

Living in a small French village we have no light pollution and have some fantastic sunsets and the view of the sky at night has to be believed - the views of the star constellations are unbelievable, especially as one guest called it the 'shovel'

Very dramatic Colin - a bit like the paintings of John Martin. A pity I missed it as I was watching the sun set on England's rugby players at the time! My sky turned (all) black instead of red!

Wow, the sunset was so spectacular last night. Great to see someone captured them so well
