Looked again today, it really is pretty obviously a statue, even in the fog! Doh!

It's part of the grounds of the Priory, with lots of sculptures by the owner or resident

This morning we saw a very large black creature with a long tail in woods near the railway station. Imagination run wild? Too much coffee? Vaguely possible?
