I would love to be involved. But I can't.

We have now been informed by the Returning Officer that at least 10 requests were made. There will be a notice put up to this effect so now you should consider nominations for this position.Guidance Notes for candidates, together with nomination papers, will be available during the
week or two before Christmas from The Returning Officer or you may contact the Town Clerk.

People in Charlbury may want to consider the vacancy for a Town Councillor which has recently arisen as reported on the home page of this website.

You should consider that all current members of the council were elected last year and if you think there should now be an election to fill the vacant position you need to take the following action.
The election will only take place if a request for an election to fill the vacancy is made before 5 December 2013 in writing to the Chief Executive, West Oxfordshire District Council, Woodgreen, Witney, Oxfordshire OX28 1NB by TEN electors for the Town.
An election will be held to fill the vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option. It is not necessary to have a candidate in mind before asking for an election.
Should you think that this should be done there is a template which you can use for a letter to send at this LINK https://www.dropbox.com/s/gazvactfp0k3ynt/town%20council%20vacancy.dotx
You may either send this by post or you can sign and scan the document and send as an email attachment to elections@westoxon.gov.uk
