Events in the events listings please!

Hi all,

Of late, canny events organisers have been trying to get a second bite of the cherry (never quite understood that phrase... cherries aren't that big) by promoting their events on both the events and the news pages.

I can't blame you for doing so, but - please don't!

The news page is great to announce the start of something new, different and regular (like this business initiative) or a one-off that is really important to a wide audience in Charlbury (like the Community Centre public meeting). But if every event is listed there too it'll rapidly become unusable - not least because news items don't automatically expire, so they'll still show after the event has happened. Same goes for putting adverts on the forum too, and so on.

In the next few weeks I hope to be wiring up the events listing to the website's Twitter feed, so there's even more exposure for Charlbury events. Please help by making sure things go in the right place.

Richard
