Many thanks Ed and John. The programme was fascinating. I love Rick, he's such a hero of mine. I can't wait to get to read the book, which I've ordered. There are loads on eBay and Amazon for sale and I'm sure that Jon Carpenter would be able to get a copy!

Firstly, thanks to Ed for flagging the programme up. How many others got to listen to it this afternoon?
I do hope that there are plenty of copies being reprinted as I am sure they will fly out of the door.
We read it a year or so ago after being given a copy by a friend from Aylesbury. Fantastic read and really gives a honest and earthy insight into live in this part of Oxfordshire 80 odd years ago.
If you haven't read it - get a copy.....
