Wed 14 Oct, 16:22 This Saturday at 2:30pm I am doing a special reading and Q&A around my upcoming book, Heirs of AI, at Oxfordshire County Library with Oxford Science & Ideas Festial. The protagonist in my novel, Ada Ikenna, is a non-verbal AuDHD teen that offers representation for young people who experience life through a neurodivergent lens. After her and her older brother, Ayden, inherit the world's most advanced AI technology from their late mother in the year 2030, it is shut down due to a failsafe. On Ada's 16th birthday in 2036, the AI "reawakens" and the siblings must decide what to do with it. The world of New Oxford is based on real innovations and social shifts taking place in the county. It is a solarpunk, human-centred future following a revolution around data sovereignty in 2026. I hope to see you and your SEND children this Saturday at 2:30pm to share more about this novel and the "unplugged" Critical Minds: Intro to AI workbook that will be available to purchase with it as well!
