The Morris Room refurbishment ..

.. is now complete, except for repainting.  If you'd be willing to help with that, or if you have any spare white paint for the woodwork, please let us know.

The north end of the room is laid out for comfortable seating, as shown above.  The flame-effect stove is our latest addition;  now that the rest of the building is so much warmer we'll only occasionally need to use it for heating (and until the weather is colder I've disabled the heating function).  Recent copies of magazines are on the table, with further copies on the rack downstairs.

The large tables in the centre of the room are ideal for meetings, and the room is available for booking in the late afternoon and evening each day.

Café-style tables at the south end of the room are ideal for working on a laptop, or simply for enjoying coffee with a friend (ask for a takeaway at the café downstairs).

We'd be glad of chess, draughts, backgammon & domino sets:  if you've got a spare set (ideally good-quality -- we've a reputation to maintain!) then put it on the donations trolley in the room.

The room also continues, of course, as a bookshop:  book, map & DVD/CD donations are welcome;  and feel free to read the books on the premises without payment.

If you use & like the room, why not put a pound or two in the wall-box .. but above all do use it - it's yours, after all!
